how long before Kyle regrets his move to Intel and opens up a new version of OCP?...over/under 1 year?...honestly this new position sounds like a brand ambassador and not a technical/design/engineering type of position where he can effect real change as far as the end product...hosting Intel parties across the country showing off their new tech sounds a bit underwhelming to me...but I guess he's at the age where he needed more financial security...I think he felt that forums were a dying breed with all the ad blockers etc and sold it while he could still get a decent return

This was my first thought as well. I wish him the best but I fear that he will get bored really fast if that's all he's doing.

Maybe he will call them out on their BS and he will be listened to and Intel will actually become better.
That may require all the infinity stones, but hey, maybe Kyle doesnt need em... his crab headgear might be enough. :D

I really thought this was the mother of all April Fools pranks.... I am really saddened that HardOCP is going away. For the past 20 years I have visited the site at least 1 - 2 times a day. Wow, I am not really sure what to say right now.

Congrats Kyle, but damn now I have to weed through a bunch of BS to find good reviews.

That's really the only other hardware site I've looked at in the last few years aside from [H]. Just as a comparison point really, but I think they're still pretty decent. Their testing isn't the same methodology of course, but it's a good bit above many of the other sites out there. It's at least AN option. It's also been around long enough to have seen a lot of the things we've all seen in the industry.

I've stuck around here because I like the style. Even the people I never agree with, I still enjoy the conversation. So at least the forums are around. I can visit other sites for some basic numbers to compare, but they definitely lack style.

Thanks for all your hard work over many, many years! This site has been my browser homepage since I was in high school in the late 90's and I couldn't even begin to count the hours I spent scouring HardOCP and the HardForums. HardOCP was integral to me becoming and remaining the computer gaming and hardware enthusiast that I have been for two decades.

Onwards, upwards, and godspeed to the [H] crew!

Change is good and you have given it a long time at this station. Far fry from the old Unreal FPS page that you originally had way back in 96 or 97.

Wonderful site that has never sold out <3

Will you be writing on the internal Intel main page? Will you have a internal page employees can follow?

My favorite website, my favorite people, I love you all. You guys helped me grow up into the man I am today, by talking rationally and having open discussions. HardOCP/Forum has had a huge positive impact on my life. Thank you.

I hope everything goes well at Intel, but regardless, we will always be here :)

Currently no. And not exactly sure how all that is going to turn out. We are going to have lots of Intel "enthusiast engagements" to talk about however later this year.

I'm selfish enough to wish this hadn't happened, but I also get why.
Soon enough you will be ramming NDAs and shilling with the best.
Just keep it above sock puppets, you won't turn eeevile overnight.

I hope you will let us know of any conventions or public events you will be attending if any so we can all show up in AMD shirts! :p

“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

Best of luck and success Kyle, thanks for all these great years of reliable and actionable information. Don't take any guff from these swine.

Good luck Kyle, happy you are getting this opportunity (hopefully it works out good for you).

That said, I have no idea what I'm going to do for my daily crapper reading, or hell daily "let me check if anything new came out in the past hour" reading... I know this is more or less shut down, but man oh man I still just knee jerk ha (autocomplete) go!

So sad, most of my favorite parts of the web are gone, HardOCP was one of the last remaining. I always said it was clearly the best hardware site, possibly before some of you guys here were born - and I have proof for that (my first website, last updated in 2003, so that page is at least that old). To be fair, the frantically exciting times of the nineties to early 00's, where you could expect disruptive technologies every few months, have long gone, but it was still good to have HardOCP's coverage.

The cradle of innovation is still at Intel: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/201...ter-56-core-xeons-10nm-fpgas-100gig-ethernet/

It is scary to think what Intel will be capable of once they move to a smaller process node.

AMD and Intel need each other, competition is good for everyone, not just for the consumer. It pushes them to innovate, make better products which in turn drives sales and interest in computer hardware.

Are you gonna be the first to tell us on hardforum when they have meaningful mitigation for those vulnerabilities?

Just a heads up, the link to the HardForum on the "Final Bottom Line" has an extra " at the end, that sends it to an error page.

I think I've found a decent news alternative in flipboard. It's pretty flexible in terms of customizing the type of news content you want displayed. My main 3 are pc gaming, technology and space. Hardforum will forever by my go-to tech community though!
