Good Way to Block A Fan Slot?

Anybody have a good method or an accessory to seal off a fan port on a computer case? The main reason for this is due to the fact that a past computer was ruined because cats decided to lay on my case and then subsequently puke on it. Needless to say, cat puke and electronics don't mix too well. I know that buying a case without an opening on top is likely the best idea, but so far I haven't found a mid-ATX case with USB 3.0 at a reasonable price. Any help will be appreciated.

Take an old fan and remove the guts so all you have left is the frame, add duct tape, and install.

Fractal Design Define Mini cases have something like what skeeder posted, they call it the mod-u-vent system, might be able to buy the pieces separate from the case, they have foam for noise dampening as well.

I've found Packaging Tape to seal just about any hole you can find on a computer case.
