Was going to put these up earlier in the sale but alas things happened and here are today with four hours remaining.

Ahhh... Citizen Kabuto. Now that's something I might get if they did a remake.

I had to watch the 'Timmy!' scene again. Oh man the memories. That was some time in high school.

I played Thief on my old Amiga... wow, that was awhile ago!

Uh, you aren't talking about the same game lol. He is talking about the excellent game released in the late 90s with that glorious A3D surround support.

Don't remind me about A3D, still nothing to this day has even come close and that was 20 years ago. Around 1997, I traded a friend that worked in the porn industry some Everquest items for an Aureal 3D card and some other graphics card. I used A3D card until games no longer supported it. Unreal was another great game that had excellent A3D support.

I always wondered why there hasn't been a new standard like A3D, I played half life and the original thief with it, it was truly immersive. With modern multicore processors, you probably wouldn't even need dedicated hardware. Too bad there isn't a Kronos group type organization for 3d sound standard.

There was supposed to be one like OpenGL but it never manifested.

Read up about how windows handles sound and why it changed in Vista and hence screwing up lots of sound things like A3D / EAX.

It is all coming full circle again with VR and processing power; software rendering (ray tracing) and 3D sound.
