I've been using a MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 for the last few years on my main desktop... Before that I had one of the older MS Natural kb (which were still beige/off-white), moved to the 4000 mostly for the padded wrist rest and the new multimedia key layout. Anyway, I've been wanting to move on to a mechanical keyboard for a while and I was wondering if anyone's gone thru a similar transition.
I've always felt the natural split layout really did help w/wrist fatigue... But it was never the most efficient layout for gaming, anything on the right side of the split is basically unreachable w/my left hand during a game, and I dunno how much it's really helped me.
It's not like I type on that thing exclusively, because I type a lot (and even code) on my netbook as well as my tablet recently (ASUS TF), and I'm always working at school labs or other computers at home w/keyboards I have laying around (even got an old IBM Model M that came w/my first PC, a 33MHz 486DX!)... So I don't expect it'd take me much to get accustomed to a regular layout.
I'm just curious if anyone left their natural/ergo keyboard behind and felt they traded away some long term comfort...
