Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5 Question

howdy...been a LONG time since i've built anything and i've picked up an i7 6700k cpu and the gigabyte gaming 5 mobo. i'm planning on doing a mild overclock on the build. what ram would you suggest? i'm wanting to get 2x8gb for now. seems that gskill is the ram most people recommend these days from what i've been seeing...but my question is what speed should i get with this mobo/cpu combo? 2400? 3000?

my price range is anything under 100 bucks...so both of these are in my range:

I have a 2 x 16GB set from G.Skill with the same timings as the 3000Mhz set you linked to, and I've had no issues on my Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7. I'd go with the faster RAM, but it won't make a huge difference either way.

One thing to note, when you're overclocking, if the Gaming 5 is anything like the Gaming 7 you might want to use manual vcore and set LLC to high. On Auto VCore my CPU (I7-6700K) will get near 1.4V on turbo, but I can get similar, better overclocks with a lower manual vcore. And if you don't up the LLC setting the Vdroop is really severe. I don't know if this is common for this sort of CPU and motherboard or a Gigabyte thing but that's what I'd recommend trying.

My CPU will do 4.7 @ 1.36V (this is the bios setting, the reading is a bit lower) easily, but I run it at 4.5 @ 1.3V on a day-to--day basis because it runs much cooler so my fans don't need to spin up too fast.
 
anyone that has this board and it happy with it, can you please link me the ram you're using?
