Here’s a new motherboard for X399 Ryzen Threadripper platform, only at VideoCardz.com.

In terms of design, the X399 Designare EX is almost identical to AORUS GAMING 7. There are few minor changes though. Apart from the new color scheme and lack of AORUS branding, the Designare has I/O bracket pre-installed (same as GAMING 9 series). It also ships with two Ethernet ports.

Apart from that, we have the same layout as Gaming 7. The official picture has no LED lighting on PCIe/DIMM slots.

Supposedly this will be more expensive then the gaming 7 and positioned more towards workstation market.

Nice looking board, but I don't understand why it would be more expensive than the Aorus Gaming x399 board. Are they charging more to not have RGB lighting, even though they left the RGB headers on the board?

Having an x16 slot as the first slot is going to prevent the use of some air coolers. The specification page is here. I see it has one of those Killer NIC chips, which is a bit off-putting.

Yea concur, Killer NIC totally makes sense on a wkstn board, not. Aircooler... that's not a primary concern on TR man. A 1950x and board will set on back 1.5K give or take, so the air cooling is probably not par for this course.

With regard to air coolers, something to note is that the socket is not square, which may mean that different coolers work best in different motherboard orientations.

Noctua, for one. Though that cooler looks a little wimpy.
I have the Noctua NH-U14S and it's pretty good. All cores loaded 100% at 3.7ghz using prime95 and I've only seen around 62C max. I stuck with air cooling as this was primarily a server build.

On the X399 platform ?
