Gigabyte Radeon RX580 Leaks

380 -> 480 is not a refresh either.

The 480 was a completely new and different product.

A refresh, would be keeping the same product name, but improving the function a bit.

A rebrand is updating the name, while not changing the product.
Was thinking more this new cards 480 to 580

At $200 price point and lower, AMD has the better cards.

An RX 460 for $80 can't be beat in the htpc/e-gaming segment. Uses less power then a GTX 750ti/950.

Rx480 with a 20mhz bump

That's pretty...pathetic. 20Mhz. They really need to add another 100MHz+ to make that card competitive. While it's pretty close to the 1060 at stock right now, it's VR performance is just unacceptable for a "VR Ready" card. It's a joke in fact. Add to it the 1060 can overclock like a beast the 1060 still comes out on top.

The most significant point is that the bins are better due to process refinement, possibly, and the 8-pin power. It's going to be a cheaper and better version of the current RX480. There are aftermarket 8-pin RX480 cards that are overclocked, and they come at a 50 dollar premium. RX580's will essentially be on par or marginally better than these cards at possibly 200 dollars. I mean...it's kinda what the RX480 could have been, but it will still sell just fine.

The RX480 definitely targets a niche in performance, 1080p...which might as well be a niche the size of the grand canyon. It's pretty competitive and possibly dominant in that price-point...in the aftermarket card segment. AMD is bringing the reference up to the aftermarket and process is much better resulting in cheaper chips.
