does this support ddr2 1066? cuz it says its standard mem is DDR3 2200 but it says it also supports 1333/1066/800

are those ddr3 modules or ddr2? cuz i dont know if there are any ddr3 800 modules out there ive seen 1066 ddr3 modules though...

i was just curious since im planning to upgrade from my old g31 chipset since its got the coil whine syndrome and its bugging the living hell out of me...

There have been DDR3 800 RAM in the past. No your mobo does not support any kind of DDR2 RAM

Get a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and be done with it. I have had excellent results with that board. You can keep your current memory as well.

The EP45-UD3R also works if you don't need Crossfire or those little things like dual LAN ports etc.

I just ordered this board to replace my DX38BT. I have never been able to get my RAM to run at 1600MHz, and I want to stretch the legs out on my Q9550 a bit. Also, unlike my D975XBX2, I never felt the rock-solid stability I expected from an Intel ES board. It wasn't like my old NFS2 (constant lockups), but just not like the BadAxe2.

Having USB3 is nice, too. I'll grab an SATA3* PCIe card down the road, once I move to SSD, and eventually upgrade the VGA. But, for now, I have no reason to move away from my Q9550. I'm gonna have to do a big tear-down, however, since I don't think my X38 waterblock will fit the P45.

* It's not SATA6, no matter how bad the marketing idjits want it to be - confusing the consumer is not right, don't support it!
