Well, by birthday is the 29th and for a present a friend is giving me his old 360 (well, its a Jasper, but he got one of the "S" models).

Now, besides some of the newer obvious games (Halo Reach, Red Dead Redemption, etc) what are some GOOD older (e.g. cheaper) games that I should check out that NEVER made it to PC?

I am a PC gamer, so for console ports I get those on PC...but what console exclusives should I look into getting?

Like to keep average game price around $10-20 if possible.

Im thinking some I should get from the get go are:

Halo 3
Forza 3
And...???

Thanks!

The first games I bought were Halo 3, Gears of War 2 and Lost Odyssey. Do you own a PS3 as well or are you only going for 360 console exclusives? Eventually I also purchased DOA:Extreme 2 (don't ask), Halo ODST (sucked balls), Ninety Nine Nights (sucked balls), Dead Rising (MUST PLAY!).

wasn't a huge fan of lost odyssey. it was well made and probably not bad, but i couldn't get into it.

if you haven't played mass effect on pc, but it for xbox. it really benefits on a bigger tv as it's got a pretty cinematic feel imo.

gears 2 is a must own.

i really enjoy mirrors edge. it's different and challenging and fun.

castle crashers is hilarious, but better with more people.

OOOhhh, i've only played the demo, but Shadow Complex on XBL reeks of a must play.

Gears of War 2 GOTY Edition
Virtua Fighter 5 (the 360 version has online play)
Bayonetta
Forza 3
Ninja Gaiden II

Yeah, the story doesn't really pick up or get interesting until well into the second disc.

So Ive gotten my list down to this:

Halo 3 (played most of it, never beat it)
Halo 3 ODST
Ninja Gaiden 2
Forza 3
Deadly Premonition
DBZ Burst Limit (in love with the PS2 Budokai 3)
Ace Combat 6

Any others I should put on there?

Most of the others mention are either on PC (which I asked specifically not to be listed as Ive played them) or are already on my list.

Most of the games already mentioned I'd agree with, but I would also add Ace Combat 6 and Fable 2. There's also plenty of cheap and really fun titles on XBLA like Aegis Wing (might still be free), Braid, Carcassonne, Geometry Wars (1 and 2), Trials HD, etc. There's also some good Indie games that are dirt cheap. Games like I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1 and Johnny Platform's Biscuit Romp.

Older ones you can pick up cheap =
Kameo
Eternal Sonata
Crackdown
Dead Rising

Project Gotham Racing 3 + 4
Forza 3
Fable 2 (despite everyone being once again let down by molyneuxs hype, it is good)
Star wars TFU
Ninja Gaiden II (this is hard)

and on XBLA, pick up Geometry wars, it will blow your mind

Are you into competitive shooters? Try Shadowrun -- should be cheap and you shouldn't spend more than $20 on it.

Shadowrun is an underrated FPS -- overshadowed by Halo 3 during its time.

Learning curve is steep if you're not really good in FPS, but you appreciate your kills once you get the hang of it.

just have to add burnout paradise to my recommendations

Picked it up for $13 on friday and just spent my whole sunday playing it (only stopping to eat/ watch formula 1)

awesome racing/crashing fun
