I've been getting an error on a couple programs today (on a brand new install of Windows 8 btw), "The application was unable to start correctly"..., error code 0xc7b. It's happened with Origin and Corsair Headset Control Panel, but not with Steam, Chrome, etc. I would prefer to not reinstall again because I've finally finished updating.

I actually don't have another drive. BTW, I got chkdsk to work, found some errors and fixed them, but I'm still getting the error.

Edit: I reinstalled Windows, and that fixed it. Thanks for trying to help though.

I'd run a chkdsk /R <Drive_letter>: on your OS drive to make sure you don't have any bad sectors even if things are OK for now. It will take quite a while to complete.

If chkdsk wouldn't complete without being run multiple times and no bad blocks are found, I'd also run the Windows memory test.

These Windows 7 steps still apply for checking memory on Windows 8.x:

Chkdsk not completing or failing with an error, but instead just hanging, is a BAD sign.
