Super ghey.. was gonna take my old laptop in tomorrow. I guess this deal went much more viral than they anticipated and they didn't want to lose any more money buying shitty old laptops.

The best part about this promo was you could trade in stuff that really didnt work. I traded in a laptop with a bad power jack and lines going vertical through the screen (though it booted to windows and otherwise worked). My advice is keep your old janky stuff ready, these deals come around everytime a new surface or surface competitor are announced.

That's what the ad said, but each store had a different idea of what was or wasn't valid.

I was under the impression they were just getting some recycle tax credit or maybe it was baked into the price of the samsung pro 9 -- problem was no one was buying the samsung with their gift cards?

I looked at it and it seemed very nice, but i wasnt going to drop $900 on that (after using the gift card and coupon) I would of done it for $600 maybe.

Even better was that you didn't have to take the time and trouble of actually loading + activating an OS, AV, browsers, etc.
I traded all of mine in booting Knoppix off the optical drive.
