I want to buy someone a gift (genmay) so how would I go about paying it for them?

would i have to give them the money and let them pay or is there another way

 
Giving them the money to activate the subscription themselves would be the most direct route.

Otherwise, since the system here is not set up for third-party stuff, I'd suggest you email kyle@hardocp.com about the possibility of paypaling him directly and having him activate a sub for them.

IMO, Genmay is possibly the most "fun" part of the forum.

Don't regret paying up for a lifetime sub one bit.
 
Well, sure it's worth the $5 or $15, but if you don't have PayPal there's no way to subscribe. I'd love to subscribe, but I don't have a credit card or easy access to my bank, so setting up an account for this would be difficult.

People have volunteered to give me a subscription in the past (in exchange for favors, parts, not just out of the blue) and I always have to say no. Is there a way for me+them to do this? For example, paypal $5 to me, and I forward it to Kyle?

 
Unless Kyle presents a solution, the only way I can think of to do it, is to give the person w/the paypal account your forum password and have them log in as you and complete the transaction. Or they could give you their paypal account login/pass and you complete the transaction. Either requires a degree of trust between the two.

 
Sucks... I had a sub for a year. I like Genmay, but Ive been somewhat short on funds. Eventually I will get it again... =(.

it wasnt all that back then, not too much participation...

I'd say it's been pretty active lately. Please see my sticky thread, I've opened it up for the weekend. ;)
