General usage laptop under 800$

So, I got a niece and nephew that are looking for a new laptop, they are going to buy the same laptop. I tried to convince them to up their budget a little bit so they could go with the 128gb i3 Surface Pro 3 with keyboard, but they have a set budget.
They need a good laptop for under 800$, usage is internet, social media and Office usage.

I was looking for one with a small ssd/hybrid drive (as they won't need more than 128gb imo) and with fairly good build quality (as this is what will make them most happy about their purchase).
Very hard to find unfortunately.
Any idea's are appreciated!

CES is currently going on and many new products have been announced.

The Asus T300 Chi and new Dell XPS 13 are both within the budget and worth looking into as examples.

My suggestion is to either wait for the new products to hit retail channels or only buy last gen (the outgoing generation) products if they have large discounts (buy based on the sale).
