"The easiest solution right now is to revert to the older driver 528.49 WHQL driver, or simply force close the Container or restart the PC. The root cause of the issue is unknown, however some users recommend removing a special DLL from the driver directory. they're failing to highlight the numerous Critical and High CVEs across the board

all being swept under the bridge
 
I have a weird issue with this driver too. Now if I have power above 100% to 110% I have black screen during tim spy extreme. If I drop power to 100% and leave the OC the same it actually works fine lmao.

My previous OC just became unstable. IDK if its the driver or something else is going on with windows lmao.

Yawn, it's being fixed in 1 day literally by a hot fix. Amd is not that fast and often takes weeks or months to fix minor issues like this.
 
It's not that big of an issue and it's a 1-minute fix today or you can wait for a new driver tomorrow.
It's a real thing (I could tell my fans were spinning up at strange times), but in the world of bugs, I'll take issues like this vs. something serious every time.
 
What seems rather amazing to me is that this is the first time that I can recall that they actually released the same new version on both the Geforce and Quadro branch at the same time. My Laptop has an RTX 5000 and got the 531.18 update also. It's usually a few months behind even on the "New Features" branch.

We are here, we criticize both AMD and Nvidia accordingly. An extra 10% CPU usage after leaving a game hardly holds the same weight as a driver install changing boot order or even nuking a windows install though. Perhaps you should weigh the issues as unbiased and you would see that.

don't know, i've never had any black screen issues lol.

but this bug with the nvidia drivers isn't really a new one. it's been hotfixed a few times over the years and likely related to some old ass spaghetti code.

NVIDIA was quick to respond to the reported CPU usage bug present in Game Ready Driver 531.18 and has issued Hotfix Driver 531.26 which claims to resolve the issue. This release still includes the new RTX Video Super Resolution AI upscaling feature introduced with 531.18, which you can use with RTX 30 and 40 series cards in conjunction with Chrome or Edge internet browsers. Below are the release notes.

This hotfix addresses the following issues:
  • Higher CPU usage from NVIDIA Container might be observed after exiting a game [4007208]
  • [Notebook] Random bugcheck may be observed on certain laptops with GeForce GTX 10/MX250/350 series GPUs [4008527]

yeah, i had a crash the other day and was digging around in event viewer and noticed a bunch of errors from nvidia not being able to connect to the network (prob because i use a vpn that locks out network at boot) but i don't even have geforce experience installed or any automatic updating, none of that stuff, just driver and that's it. kinda pissed me off. why is a driver phoning home and what are they sending? i did a little digging and found someone else that found the same thing and he had like 1000+ errors because i guess if it doesn't connect it just keeps retrying indefinitely. that's some shady behavior if you ask me.

AMD drivers do the same but they stop after a few minutes. Pretty sure it's checking for driver updates and notifications (new software releases ect).
 
My system had this bug. However, I use the NVCleanstall tool from TPU that is supposed to disable telemetry.
