Games in which the player has the option to use nuclear weapons?

Specifically bombs. It's horrible to imagine them being used in the real world which is why I'd rather rain their death on people made of pixels and polygons.

I know the Civ games have that option, but I'm having trouble remembering others.

Heavy Weapon on Xbox360/One and maybe other platforms.

It is a 2d game.

playing as the Skaven race in Total War Warhammer II you can nuke. Very satisfying dropping it on a cluster of units.

DEFCON is all about nukes- although not graphically pleasing explosions if that's what you are looking for.

Otherwise most RTS based in a modern or future setting have nukes. Red Alert, Supreme Commander, Starcraft, Act of War, etc.

If you don't mind taking out hundreds of arachnids instead of humans, Starship Troopers allows you to wield a nuke-launcher.

MDK has some sort of nuke.

I think mercenaries 2 also has it.

Total Annihilation. Before Krogoth was introduced, that was your typical end-game.

Also, Fallout 3 has a nuclear weapon sitting in the middle of the town, available for the player to detonate.
TA and Supreme Commander both had nukes, and anti nuke systems. Loved building bases against 2-3 Ai teams and having to basically build an iron shield of anti-missile sites, with backups as sometimes the enemy would send 3-4 nukes at once to overwhelm your defensive launchers.

Defcon

World in Conflict -

(Awesome nuclear battles) Too bad the servers went down. It was a very fun MP game where you could lob tactical nukes at one another, the explosions and mushroom clouds in this particular game were the best I've ever seen & still are.

Edit** Servers may not be dead after all.....

This was the very first game I thought of. It also happens to be my favorite RTS although I never played it online. I've had issues getting my physical copy to work for years now so I bought it from GoG during the winter sale so I have it when I want to play it.

And the satellite dropped ones in an outpost. One of my favourite parts of that game, quite the gem to stumble across.

edit: TA still best RTS ever. TA with TAUCP of course.
