^ Looks very good, congrats on the new HTPC, but only 2 of the pics are loading.

Since I recently took pictures of my apartment (mom wanted to see ), figured I'd delurk and share. I'm a broke-ass grad student, so I've put everything together slowly and from sales/used/b-stock.

Living room:
htpc.jpg

Mac Mini 1.66Ghz CD, 1GB, 60GB, OS X 10.5.8 running Plex, controlled by an Apple remote with a Logitech k400 as backup/for browsing.
Hooked into an Onkyo HTS790 w/7.1 (HTIB that was a pretty good deal) and a Westinghouse 32" (the "eco" model that I nabbed for cheap on black friday a couple of years ago).

Bedroom:
bedroomhtpc.jpg

Mac Mini 2.4Ghz C2D, 4GB, 320GB, OS X 10.7.5 running Plex, controlled by an Apple remote with a Logitech diNovo mini as backup.
Hooked into Dell 2005fpw, and a Cambridge Soundworks sub that's driving a couple of cheap old Advents.

Here's the server they draw from:
serverhome.jpg

18TB system running SuSE in the office. I just use SAMBA and Plex media server on the Mac minis to keep everything browsable.

Installed additional ceiling hooks for the screen so we can use the fireplace again. This shot provides better portrayal of the color than my last one.

Well, my setup isn't as nice as some I've seen on here, this is what I have.

Nerve Center (In the Office)
2012-09-05184832_zpsb4f72716.jpg

HTPC Specs:
Intel Celeron G530
ASRock H61M/U3S3 Motherboard
HIS Radeon HD 7770
4GB Corsair DDR3 1600
WD Green 750GB (DVR/OS)
WD Black 200GB (Games)
ASUS Blu-Ray Drive
Corsair CX430 PSU
Hauppauge HVR-2250
Silverstone GD05B Case
Logitech K400 Keyboard/Mouse
Rosewill RHRC-11001 Remote

Other Components:
Toshiba 50" LED-LCD TV
Onkyo HT-R390 Receiver
Xbox 360 S
Slim PS3
ASUS RT-N66U Router
2 TB Data Share via Router
Silicondust HDHomeRun Prime Network TV Tuner

The idea behind the component selection for the HTPC was to give it enough power for HTPC duties as well as gaming while keeping power draw to a minimum. Believe it or not the G530 handles everything I throw at it very well. Also, sorry about the picture quality, but the Galaxy Nexus has a terrible camera.

I'll post the pictures of the actual setup when I get them imported, but for now I've got this; Raspberry PI Model B, OC'd to 'Fast' setting. I had a buddy at work, who's our product photographer, take this today. The case we, another coworker and I, milled at work. The bottom is a glossy plastic and the top is clear acrylic, held together by some hex screws. :D

my god.. thats a gorgeous raspberry pi case +___+ i would actually buy one... ya know if you ever decided to make another and sell it ;D

Intel NUC running XBMC
img0518rr.jpg

Runs Windows 8 (for fast booting), with XBMC as the front end. I do all the controlling of the HTPC using the remote that came with my TV (using a PulseEight USB CEC adapter)

The box itself is an Intel NUC DC3217IYE, mounted to the back of my TV.

Those NUC's are pretty freaking sweet!

I just assembled 10 of them for a bunch of HDTV "monitoring" screens at my new office. :D

They handle multimedia pretty well.

Amazing!

(Welcome back! :))

I guess I could upgrade my old HTPC some day, and I have few ideas of a new DIY case... But this is my HTPC that is in active use atm as the hart of my hometheater and feeding picture to the projector. Quite old setup with C2D E6600, GT8500, 2T HDD's, Blu-ray and HD DVD etc. The case is DIY made of aluminium, and the CPU and NB is passively coolded with heatpipes. GPU is factory passive model. The PSU is an old ElanVital semipassive version.

Few pics of the build. :)

That's a great space overall, but what really draws me in is your AV "cabinet" solution.

Wood panels separated by stacked bricks? Very cool looking, sturdy, and functional. I like it!

Dang, Tuppu. Looks nice.

Did you also DIY those subs? (not an insult, they look nice)
