Galaxy Note 7 Owners May Get Galaxy S8 At Lower Cost

This news is out of Korea and may or may not apply to other countries, but anyone who exchanged their Note 7 with an S7 or Edge may be able to do so again for a Galaxy S8. Let’s hope their next flagship is trouble free.

Samsung Electronics announced on October 21 a new compensation program for those who have purchased a Galaxy Note 7. Under this program, Samsung will allow those who exchange their Galaxy Note 7 with Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge to exchange them again with a Galaxy S8, scheduled to be launched in March 2017 without paying much. Samsung officials said, “The new compensation program is designed to make it easier for those who exchange their Galaxy Note 7 with existing Samsung smartphones, to shift into our next model coming in next year.” They added, “We think this could an effective program since it also provides some incentives to smartphone vendors.”
 
Bah! I'm done with Samsung for now. Maybe I'll go back for the Note 8 or 9.
 
Meh, I turned my Note 7 in and just went back to my Note 4, so it looks like I get nothing past the $25 bill credit for turning mine in.
Not really interested in the S8 or Edge. The next Note is all I am really interested in. And then only if they keep the SD card slot.
 
Samsung is a scummy company. They release this information after the majority have returned their device and made their decision... I'm still not sure it would change my decision to to do a return and not go with another Samsung device right away (because I don't like the S7 Edge personally), this pretty much guarantees I won't be buying a Samsung device in the next year. If I end up being happy with the Pixel, I guess I'll be looking forward to a Pixel 2 next year instead of a Note 8... What a joke.

Agreed on this completely, i might have stuck with an S7 Edge if i had known about this. But i'm so done with Samsung for now, the way this whole situation was handled by them and the carriers was a joke, heck i still haven't been able to return my Note7 because of Three mobiles pathetic returns policy: Order online, can't return to a store..... can't post back!

My Oneplus 3 is on it's way, should be back up and running within a day or two.
