G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 $75 @ newegg.

How is it a better deal? The Ripjaws are only $15 more and they're DDR3 2133 instead of DDR3 1600.

If you are running Sandybrige you are better off with 1333 or 1600 RAM. No real world performance difference as Sandy mobos have a heck of a time running anything over 1600. I have 1866 RAM and I can't get it to run over 1600. So I wish I had just bought 1600 RAM and saved a few bucks.

And if you are running FM1 they will make a world of difference

Wrong, it can be a 4% difference at 2560x1600 in games, let alone real applications.

Shame these aren't cas9 like my 2133 or I would go for it.

WOW it CAN be a 4% difference!!!!! Look, I have nice G.Skill ram so I'm not hating. I just don't think it's a big deal as I can't get my RAM stable at anything over 1600.

PEBKAC then, and at highend 4% is a lot for games. It is more for apps. By can be I mean is, obviously. Sandy bridge takes ram to rated speeds with 1 setting so unsure how your sarcastic self can be messing it up .

If you can't get your RAM stable at rated speeds then it could be your sticks that are bad.

Stick are 100% fine. Anything over 1600 is considered overclocking for Sandybridge, hence the problems. Look it up.

True and I agree. But MOST board will run 1600. It's when you get over 1600 when things get hairy.

Actually, virtually all Sandy Bridge boards can run 2133 fine, it is a feature of the platform that the RAM frequency multiplier is independent of the CPU's.
