awesome camera for anybody that wants to learn photography. Excellent features(controls, sd based, built in AF motor) for an entry(maybe not as much as a consumer model) dslr. I bought a D5000 and "upgraded" to a D80, can't recommend this camera enough!
Actually I just sold it. Thanks for interest. I own both the d80 and the d5000. The d80 is definitely useful with the built motor. I loved it but I'm looking to upgrade.
which model are you looking at? I'd like to move to the D7000..has lots of things I want, but seems like they went astray from some features I really like..tacky ones but i think it's important(changing drive modes for instance)
I really like the D80 and served my needs for the most part. It really is a good camera. The only reason I got a D7000 is the slightly better low light performance, and also the video recording
the 7000 has an input for an external mic on recordings right? I miss the video support and would like a higher resolution...other than that, I love my d80. I will likely keep mine around as a backup/lens holder!
Yes I believe it does. I would have kept my D80 as a back up camera but I already have a d5000. I was a little sad to let the D80 go, it was my first DSLR haha.
