Maybe you've never heard of the Uniball Jetstream. Stop. Go read this.
BLX is Uniball's custom inks that are part color, part black, so they're understated enough to use every day, but not quite as boring as black. Here is a review of the Signo 207s w/ BLX ink. The Jetstreams will be similar colors with less intensity and near zero smudging (Signos lay down a lot more ink).
And here is a test I did of each color in the 5 pack:
$12.50 + shipping ($2 if you buy 1, $3 total if you buy 2, and free ship if you buy 3+)
I also have dozens of in box pilot g2s in red blue and black if you'd prefer to buy those
