Intel i5 9600K . Delidded with a rockitcool 1151 copper IHS attached. It seems like a 4.9AVX /5ghz non avx chip, but still in testing. $225 shipped https://imgur.com/gallery/ba57Nj7 Pics of the delids and relids of a Rockitcool copper IHS. Quicksilver was used for removal of the factory STIM solder, not sandpaper or razor. Super clean and used Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal and a very thin layer of Permatex automotive gasket maker to attach the new copper IHS (the camera made the layer look thicker than it actually is). I have various I9 9900Ks, I7 9700K/8700K, and i5s all of which got the same treatment. Used a Gigabyte Aorus Elite Z390 motherboard for testing. With a 240/280mm AIO and 1.35v limit (maybe 0.02v more if temps are really good, but will be noted if so). Please understand this board has an excellent VRM setup, and other boards with different VRMs and LLC controls may need different voltages, and may not be stable at what I get stable. If you have a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 you should expect similar results with similar settings. Listings are for the CPU only no cooler or box with the copper IHS already attached and ready to go. Intel i5 9600K . Delidded with a rockitcool 1151 copper IHS attached. It is not a super high clocker, but it would make a good CPU for a budget gaming build with air cooling in a lower end Z370/Z390 board that doesn't have a strong VRM. 4.9Ghz 1.35V stable with Prime 26.6 and 4.8Ghz AVX stable with 1.34V (probably could do less but haven't tested lowest voltage). AVX temp range 72C-77C, non AVX range 59C-64C. SOLD to deruberhanyok for $225 EVGA GTX 1070 TI SC black edition ACX 3.0 Card only, got it in a trade. Clean and like new. SOLD to dodgerpro for $280 shipped Intel i5 9600K . Delidded with a rockitcool 1151 copper IHS attached. It is not a super high clocker, but it is very cool at 5Ghz and would make a great CPU for a good quiet air cooler. 1.35v 5Ghz Prime95 26.6 60C-64C temp range, 4.9GHz Prime95AVX 66C-72C range. 5Ghz with up to 1.38v failed prime95AVX, but is fine with prime95 26.6. SOLD to superjoe for $240 shipped i9 9900K does 5.2Ghz Prime95 AVX and Prime95 26.6 stable. 5.3Ghz is close, Im guessing around 1.37-1.38 would do it. Temp range in Prime AVX was 66-77C. Before delid was 76-91C. De8aur sells 9900Ks delided that do 5.1Ghz for over $1,000. Listing mine for, SOLD to Promleminfected for $565 i9 9900K does 5.1Ghz Prime95 AVX and Prime95 26.6 stable. 5.2Ghz was close with 1.35 but not stable. Temp range 68-75C. SOLD in a trade to thelead i7 9700K does 5Ghz Prime95 26.6 stable. First core fails on Prime95 AVX after ten minutes or so at 5Ghz, but is fully AVX stable at 4.9Ghz. So you can set the AVX option in the BIOS to drop 1-2x under AVX load, or add more voltage, up to you. 4.9Ghz PrimeAVX load temp spread was 77-87C, before delid was 81-91C. 5Ghz Prime95 26.6 was 72-77C SOLD to chuckd007 for $330 Heatware under CecilFor trades, will consider a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite or better motherboard, or high end VRM Z370. My Corsair K95 cherry red keyboard is having its LEDs die, so might be looking for a newer Corsair RGB replacement. A 500GB-1TB NVME SSD is also on my list.
The Rockitcool copper IHS's I have seen are supposedly not compatible with the 9900K because the die is slightly thicker and as a result will put too much stress on the 9900K die vs the others of the same gen. Did you modify the Rockitcool? Or did they release a model to account for the die variance?
They released a new model for the 9 series. That is what I used. There is roughly half a mill or less of space from the PCB and the edge of the IHS to allow the rtv gasket to not raise the IHS off of the die when a thin layer is used.
Would really like to have a couple of these sold by Thursday so I can avoid a fee on something I have to pay. Make me a reasonable offer.
