I wonder if my Quad Socket F board still works. I've always wanted 4 low power CPUs like this for running a bunch of classic clients.

yarr, you could be right. My googlefu isn't working today, I'll bug Patriot tonight and ask him.

Yes you need to have 8 series CPU's to do quad/octo. 2xxx = up to 2P, 8xxx = up to 8P.

I got excited for a second seeing 4x socket F CPU's, and then hearing tobit having a 4P board! Too bad they werent 4P capable . I have a [H]ard on for socket F right now.

Any educated guesses on PPD output with two of these in a 2P board?

It will be pretty low, that would be equivelent to a 1.7ghz octocore. Maybe 15-20K PPD at best.
