This is a new (used once) 8 port RAID controller with the optional battery backup unit and battery.
I decided to go with the Windows Home Server built in storage, so I don't have a need for this VERY NICE card. I don't have all the packaging anymore, but I have the important parts (2 x multilane cables, card, and BBU)
Some highlights:
* RAID 6
* 256MB onboard cache (battery backed cache because of the BBU)
* PCI- E 4x (but will fit in any PCI-E slot)
* Very fast card. RAID 5/6 will give you the same performance. RAID 1 will give you damn fast reads (and normal writes)
* Hardware RAID, so zero overhead
* Very good linux support
* Very good windows based management
* Email alerts
* Call up 3Ware tech support. They are fantastic! Highpoint support is crap.
Looking for $600 shipped for the pair. Price this out yourself and you'll see this is a great deal.
