For those who may be inclined, you can install a leaked version of Windows 10 RT on to these tablets. It's a bit of an involved process. I used this guide to play around with an RT tablet earlier this year:

It didn't really increase the overall usability of the tablet, but was interesting to see the direction Microsoft was heading with the RT ecosystem before it was discontinued. The tablets still make a decent digital picture frame, audio player, or e-reader for moderate sized PDFs and the like.

I had one of those before I upgraded to a full surface...I seemed to remember it had win8 rt.

It was ok...I could do web browsing and it had office and did it just fine. I found it much more useful for work than an ipad because of real office.

The tablets still make a decent digital picture frame

Can this be logged in to OneDrive to be used as the picture frame? I was going to build one from an rPi so my wife could link her OneDrive photo folder and have it display anything from there so she doesn’t have to keep swapping photos.
