damn thats a good deal on that ups. cheap 2tb too. i need more of both and i'm broke :(

I had the MSI board with a 955. Its a very nice board!! I ended up messing up a flash with it. It doesn flash very well.

Plus about 30 Blu Rays for $8 each - and they aren't random crap you never heard of!

Watchmen, 300, Ocean's Thirteen, etc.

I'm not sure I want to keep the x6 combo I picked up this morning. I'll probably switch it to a cheap i5 750 combo if one pops up before the 2 week CPU return period. I kinda wish Fry's would have done a BF-style i7 860 combo for $229 again.

That was a really good deal. I picked up Apollo 13 (15th anniversary edition), watchmen and incredible hulk.

Nothing spectacular...
Nein. The Friday ad is the best since last November, and that's saying a lot.

Picked up 4gigs of Corsair ram, DDR2, I was going to add to my box back when it was hovering around $70 figured oh it'll get cheaper... BAM! News report DDR2 prices set to increase... DOH! Before I knew it $100-$110 for the same thing. Still $100, but a $30 MIR is good enough for me.

My buddy who lives in TX is supposed to be picking me up the i3 combo, X6 combo, and celeron combo. I hope they have it in stock.

that a awesome fucking price on that x6 combo. I have been drooling over it on newegg, but couldnt justify the 335 when I just built my ITX system.

As there is no Fry's Close if anyone wants to buy that combo & ship it to me I will ship you a i3-530 in an Intel DH57jg mITX mobo & a Lian Li PC-q07..

I picked up the MSI/G6950, MSI/X6 and MSI/Celeron combos yesterday and today. It feels like stealing. :D

Protip for your friend: order it online for in-store pick up. Many of the combos lately, including the ones just mentioned, were available so I did that.

Tomorrow there is going to be a Gigabyte GA-MA78LM-S2H/Athlon II X4 635 combo for $90AR and a Gigabyte GA-MA790XTA-UD4 (SATA3/USB3)/Phenom II X4 965 combo for $185AR. The ad scan was posted on SD this morning.

so I just got word from my Mom in Vegas.. I Sent her to Fry's looking for this Combo & They still have it so I am in for 1.. Now just to wait for her to ship it to me.

That's nice.

All I have to say is that it better be fast since I wont stop hearing about this for the next about 9 years.. Gotta love the mom, but damn she flips me allot of shit for making her go shopping.

we were outta stock on everything on friday, but our manager cut down prices on a lot of stuff to substitute them for the combos, and it is funny people still give a fist about it. no one new about this combo with the biostar board 890fx board( it is a pretty sick ass board), and x6 for 250, so we were out of this msi board and I told the guy I could hook him up with another combo that no one knows about for 250, appearently he thought this was a crappy deal and I was trying to get him to just buy shit. He said oh it is not as good of a deal he wants it cheaper because this board has no onbaord graphics. I was like ok see you later, sometimes people piss me off when they think that I am getting commission on shit when I am not, and I am just trying to hook them up with a good deal.

there were two combos with i7 930, one with msi x58 pro for 309-20AR, and asus p6t-se for 329 I believe.

The guy was right.. I wouldn't consider that biostar board. Aside from my build needing a mATX I don't touch biostar shit since its well.. shit.. At least it was last time I bothered with it which has been a few years. Just the same though I Wouldn't bother with it..

biostar makes shitty boards that board is not bad at all. I have used their upper end boards in my home systems, and they have not failed me at all. Yes I wouldn't even look at their low end boards, but they do make some good boards. I am sure some one hates asus just like you hate biostar. We all have bad experience with one company or the other. But their 890fx board has quality written all over it, and with price way lower then competition. They do offer 3 year warranty on all their boards now. You have to see it, I am sure pictures don't do justice.

I got no problem anyone hating biostar. A customer has the right to say no, he wanted a combo so bad and I was just trying to help, when they disrespect you infront of ten other people is just asking for it. Although most customers are chill and very nice, but the 10% that will fuck your day up. My point was that sometimes you go out of your way to help somone and then they make it seem like you are just trying get them a bad deal.

Reading these deals and not having a Fry's around is about the same as being in a brothel with a million in cash, but without a penis.

lol, I would buy stuff and ship it to people at no charge, but I am way to fucking busy with school, may be over the summer I can do it for some people.

Heh, if I didn't have a job, I probably wouldn't mind doing that for free, but then I wouldn't be able to afford to front the money, lol.

so what your saying is that if you sort through the crap some of them are decent. Thats like saying that "sorry but were out of stock on that toyota avalon for 22500 instead of the normal 33k price tag, but we have this great hyundai sonata over here for only 25000". any what way you slice it its a biostar for more then the MSI.

anyone know if the bios in these boards direct from fry's is updated enough to run the 6 core CPU. The most recent update dated 4/30/10 adds support, so it seems unlikely that they will come with it. So if this doesn't post ima be one screwed monkey having to order another am3 cpu to update.

I believe it will POST, but won't recognize the CPU. You should still be able to flash BIOS.

I know someone suggested flashing the SE with the none SE bios, but I heard it would only suppor x8/x8 and not x16/x16 SLi and I wanna do 2xGTX 470.

Flashing the non-SE BIOS probably won't work. There is another hack which does though.

x8 vs x16 makes little difference in most video card limited resolutions. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GTX_480_PCI-Express_Scaling/3.html (summary if you only want one result: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GTX_480_PCI-Express_Scaling/24.html )

This is about 5 years ago on an old Asus board but I flashed a bios without a cpu even installed before. I would assume the post would happen and flash would be possible.

Was going to jump on the i7 930/mobo combo, but alas, nothing available anywhere remotely in my area.

You'll most likely need a CPU to flash, but even if the CPU isn't yet supported on the current BIOS, it will allow you to flash to a new BIOS. The MSI 890GX boards that I bought a few weeks ago needed the latest version to work with the X6 chips.

so I didn't check the version, but the x6 was fully identified int he bios. there was also a sticker on the box saying "six core cpu support" So atleast the fry's in vegas had boards with updated bios

in the mean time windows is installing atm..
