Right now Nvidia is definitely the largest threat to Intel in the HPC market
AMD might be able to steal a few percent away in desktop and commodity servers markets but is a necessary evil to keep the FTC at bay
Nvidia on the other hand is trying to move large, high margin markets into vendor lock-in. HPC, render farms, etc can switch from x86 to ARM, etc much more easily if all the heavy lifting is on the GPU.
