Just installed a fresh copy of XP w/sp2 on my pc. When critical updates try to install it always locks up on the fourth update. I tried shutting down and updating like that, but nothing helps. Any suggestions?
Have you tried downloading the update manually (not through Windows Update) and trying to manually apply it? If you go to Windows Update and click "more.." (or something like that), it should tell you the KB document and a download link.
