I was browsing the Dr. Pepper EA promotional site to see if they had added anything new lately and noticed they have a football game now. You have to redeem multiple codes to unlock everything, but redeeming any one code lets you download the game.
From the site:
"(Dr Pepper Football is available for Microsoft Windows only. Redeeming any one of the Dr Pepper Football prizes will also entitle you to download the game to your PC.)"
I gave it a shot and it's not the worst thing I've ever played. A decent time waster if you have a football game itch and don't have or don't want Madden 08.
I guess it's not technically "free" since you have to buy a Dr. Pepper and redeem the code, but it doesn't cost anything extra on top of that.
Edit: Forgot to mention that it requires Origin. It also requires an EA account that you have to log in to before you can play. I'm assuming they're using that to manage the stuff you've unlocked through the Dr. Pepper website.
