Fortnite Battle Royale Free September 26

Jun 22, 2008
Those of you who have yet to try out PlayerUnkown's Battleground (PUBG) can soon get a taste of the "battle royale-style " gameplay at no cost. Starting September 26, Fortnite's Battle Royale update will be available free as a standalone title. Fortnite is Epic Games entry into the team-based character shooter -- think Overwatch with base-building. The Battle Royale update released last week and the company will refund any customer who purchased Fortnite between Sept. 12 and Sept. 20.

Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival video game developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games, the latter of which also serves as publisher for the game. The game was released as a paid early access title on July 25, 2017 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a full free-to-play release expected in 2018. It features cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and PC versions.
