different leagues have different teams in them . at the end of the year the top 3 from the lower leagues moves to the next highest league and i believe the lowest 3 drop down a league. Basically the idea is to keep teams that have higher output competing against each other or some such.

From : http://formula-boinc.org/
"Leagues in 2018: The last three teams in leagues 1 and 2 will be respectively downgraded in leagues 2 and 3. The first three teams in leagues 2 and 3 will be respectively upgraded in leagues 1 and 2. The last three teams in league 3 will be replaced by new teams which want to participate to the competition. New teams must ask for integration in competition before november 30th. If there are more than 3 teams, teams will be participate in a sprint from december 8th 00:00 "

Ah. Regulation.

How many of these are WCG? Trying to figure out how many master images I’m gonna need. Got WCG, what else should I build?

Ah. Never mind. Reading the BOINC page.

Lemme start building masters. Any that are GPU only?

GPUGrid is but they have been testing some CPU work. However, pointwise it isn't worth running the CPU work. The rest have CPU work units but the GPU's will outscore the CPU's by a large margin. Asteroids you will find the GPU's to crank more out but CPU's are probably better put to use here outside of sprints.

Only one project that I now of doesn't run Windows and that is WEP-M+2. It is Linux and MacOS. Most of the points to focus on are the sprints. More strategies to come.

So I’ve got a crap ton of CPU horsepower, but GPU is... hard. I’ll toss my own in, but we’ll see.

Cpu can be used at least for most things?

Yes, CPUs can be used for a most all the projects. For the GPU projects, we have a small one man army on the team known as atp1916 who brings the heat when we need him. Our biggest struggle is CPU power.

We're loaded on the GPU side, for sure.

RFGuy_KCCO has a small army of RTX cards, and those bad boys put Pascal efficiency to shame.

Well, I've got plenty of CPU then. Lemme figure out how many masters I have to build and get started.

If they're already running WCG then you don't have to do anything special. Just attach the projects to those VMs and you're set to go. This is where running BAM! on all the VMs would be useful. You can sign up for a new project and attach it to all your hosts in about 2 minutes.

BOINC Account Manager. Searching BAM might prove to be difficult. On my phone or I'll post the link. It's part of boincstats.com

Already found it. Studying.

Will be back to 100% Tuesday- y’all finally actually ~cooked~ the UPS in the data center. I’m down to 18A total until I swap the parts- they came on Christmas Eve and we blew on Christmas Day. >_<.

Well, if nothing else, you're definitely stress testing your datacenter hardware. :D

No surprises ...

I've asked sebastien to remove DrugDiscovery@home due to it being a dead project.

Happy New Year!

Now let’s get to work! The race is on! Start hitting those marathon projects and get some points for the [H]!

Back from a long vacation and a Happy New Year to you all.

sebastien corrected the bad sprint date and also removed DrugDiscovery from the Marathon list. Denis@home is still on the list though. So, it should be on everyones machines in case they actually send out work. They only sent out work like once last year.

New circuit breakers are stupid sensitive. Fail at exactly 15A per bank. I’m playing power Tetris for the moment, with a miss taking down a huge pile of gear. I’ll be ready by the first sprint.

added a new lines in the header under the rank to show the breakdown of our points (by counting the ranks over projects and show cumulated points)

Some wired stuff comes e.g. in rank 2; we have 4 ranks #2 but only points for 3 ; because BURP is not yet above the threshold for granting points; though I count the rank.

Oh no...we have to keep climbing... we need more recruiting too. The goal is Gridcoin being toppled...lol.

Lol

Edit: Gridcoin is going nowhere...

I am surprised we made 3rd though... I really need to bring all my PC's back online. Been off for over a week.

Talking about Gridcoin, since PrimeGrid started demonetizing on Oct 12th of last year, the gap between GC and the 2nd and 3rd place in this year PG marathon is no longer gargantuan.

According to our dashboard, they are still projected to maintain the lead at current run rate. So can other teams topple them in this popular BOINC project?

Numberfields it is...get your cache loaded for bunkering ready if that is your plan.

Remember to enable the option for allowing data export of stats in your preferences for Numberfields on the project website. Lets hit this hard and win the first sprint of the year!

We are starting out way behind. So, we need a large number of CPU's added to the project now to play some major catch up. All hands on deck.

We have jumped to 3rd place from 6th but that was the easy milestone. There is still a pretty big lead ahead of us.

He hasn't been on the forums for over a month...not sure what is going on.

Dang, that was one hell of a dump! Jumped to first place in the sprint.
