Pretty good price, but the timings aren't really good. 3-4-4-8 (I know, you DDR2 people would kill for timings like that )

I agree, I got these sticks in my system.
And they have failed on me once since 10/2005.
I'm always wating for them to fail on me again especially
after reading what seems like 100's to 1000's of people that
had problems with the first batches of these sticks. I also know
that there's a newer version out now then what I currently have
( I have the 2nd batch now) so maybe the second version of these sticks
are dying too. Haven't really been paying attention lately.


Hey, but then again. If you get the third batch of these sticks maybe you will
skip right through all the fun and get sticks that last.

yea, they dont use UCCC, the used -5b D, which micron makes, micron owns crucial, so why they'd use a samsung product is beyond me. and they can run cas 2 at ddr400, ive seen sets run 2-2-2 at ddr400. now they use -5b F, which might still be able to do cas 2 at ddr400, im not too sure.

i just want to clear up a few things about the ballistix.

yes, they did fail a lot back in the beginning of the year. that was when crucial was using micron 5B D chips. they changed the PCB slightly, which appears to have helped, then finally, switched to micron 5B F, which do not have the same failure issues, but do not clock *quite* as well as D did. i would expect around 260 to 280mhz at 3-3-3 with some tweaking.
