Done by design. Nvidia nade sure lack of 3080's to make demand for ot so they can raise prices. Oldest trick in the book. I can wait a bit. Sure next year supply will catch up.

I wonder what the GPU boost clock is on the 3090 - if it's as aggressive as the 3080 appears to be (hence the low OC headroom), or if there's a lot more to be gained from OCs on them.

I made a half-hearted attempt to grab one launch morning, didn't get it of course. At this point I'm just going to wait until November, I figure it's going to take (at least) that long for the supply situation to get sorted out, so I might as well sit back, see what AMD has in store, and try to grab one then. My 1080ti really isn't struggling, and until Cyberpunk 2077 releases I don't see much of a need for a new card or RTX, except if maybe I upgrade my Vive to an Index.

My birthday is in November anyway, so maybe I can snag one from Best Buy with their 10% off birthday coupon. It all works out that way. Maybe. Maybe it will still be a cluster.

lol... I'm not sure what to think here! My 2080Ti FTW3 overclocked gets 10272 in Port Royal and I get more in Time Spy Extreme than an RTX 3080 (as that is a 4K test).

What context are the leaked game benchmarks? For example, Control and SOTTR are higher than what I get for sure, but I also play at 4K with RT on. I have a feeling those numbers are 1440p or less.

I guess we will ALL find out this week...

I too am still on a GTX 1080 FE. The long hair Jesus YouTuber guy said “ It’s great but not that great” I’m like WTF comparing to a 2080Ti yeah but what about the rest of us who don’t have the luxury of always having the best or 2nd best of every GPU generation. It’s like a millionaire telling us common folks having a fortune is nice but it ain’t always nice.
