... and apparently they're a couple of the best web security guys in all of GS :p At our morning meeting they had a couple guys come up to the front to talk about a national website security competition they were in, apparently they went up against the likes of Texas A&M, etc. and took first place. I did some looking on it, and I'm sure some people on here work for the GS, and if they've heard of this I thought they'd like to know ;)
 
Being the "best" member of Geek Squad is kind of like being the tallest midget.

Perhaps your store is something special, but I have never once, at any Best Buy, ran into a competent GS employee.

No. It's more like being the smartest kid with Down syndrome.

There's a few out there that -are- competent. But they're overshadowed by all the idiots they have to work with to the point that their existance isn't even acknowledged. Thus why there are only horror stories and never any good ones.
 
Never heard of it. But like prior post, there are so many dumasses working for the GS it gives them overall bad image.


What's the % of unemployment there? I know in my city it's 1%, remarkable how low.

there are so few jobs in flint that the actually talented people are forced to work at BB cleaning spyware off old ladies computers

Unemployment? 9.3%... about 19,000 people... #3 in the nation.

a)some of the worst roads
b)one of the best overall driving records (how in the world that is i have no clue)
c)the two top gs security agents in the nation (wtf?!)
d)hookers and strip clubs...

...clearly a place to live, LOL
 
In 1998-1999 Flint was very high then too. Not an area to make a living in or to settle down. It's an old GM town.

The crime rate in Flint is very high too.
 
I get so tired of hearing about Flint, Michigan.

We get it.

There's no other town (maybe Columbine) that you could speak to any common American about and they instantly know what you're talking about.

I once lived in Davidson, MI just outside of Flint for 10 years near I-69.

I know, but once you read more you see that it's actually about GS.

I live on the other side of Flint, 'bout 10 minutes west of Flint Twp.
