Hi,

I have a 2yr old system with a asus z170 sabertooth mark 1 motherboard. It reached a state where it wouldn't power-on. Seemed like it was a bad case power switch at the time (about a month ago).

So I switched the guts into a new case (330r blackout edition /corsair carbide)

Now, it's acting up again. Mobo has solid power LED, but board powers up only intermittently. I've used a straight jumper on the pwr switch pins, which worked, then didn't work etc. De-energizedthe mobo, tried all combinations etc.

When it powers on the system runs perfectly. I've never seen this before. I can only assume a flaky motherboard? Time for RMA or is there something I haven't thought of?? I could try a new powersupply I suppose?

Thanks,

So, with this system, I've now swapped the mobo, the case and the psu and it still wont reliably power on. So, must be the ram or cpu or video card??? Loosing my marbles on this system. I've never seen anything like it. Motherboards lights up, but wont turn on, doesn't even try. But then it does and works perfectly when it's on.
