Currently have the rig below. Going to be using this mostly for gaming, movies, and possibly VR in the future. I just ordered a 27" Dell 144hz GSync 1440p monitor and want to start future-proofing my setup.
I'm going to be swapping out the 780 I have for a GTX 1080, but I'm unsure what to do with my Motherboard/CPU combo. My options are to stick with my current board and find an Ivy Bridge processor, or buy a completely new board and CPU.
I have ~$800 to work with here after getting the 1080. I'm keeping my SSD, RAM, Antec EA750 750W power supply and case. So if I keep my current Motherboard, which processor do I go with? If that's not recommended, which board/CPU combo should I go with?
