firefox opens bookmarks

when i open a new tab from my first page it now shows top 5 bookmarks below my search engie how do disable this please. Im using teh latest version of FF for windows 10, Tankies in Advance

i see no TOOLS option first of all

Press the alt button and it should drop a menu bar. Else open the menu on the right, should be a submenu called tools. Else, open the settings page from that menu, the home page option should be under the general tab...I think.

Sorry, been a while since I used desktop fx.
