firefox home tabs question

In firefox I have multiple tabs setup to open when a window opens. But what I really want is just the tabs to load for the first open window but subsequent windows have just one tab. It really bogs down my laptop when i open a new window and it has to load all 5 homepages again. Does anyone know how to make the hometabs only occur in the first window? Or conversely how to open a blank new window?

I'd just modify your Firefox shortcut so that it handles the task of launching your tabs. From there, you can just CTRL+N to launch new windows without re-launching all the new tabs.

You can do this with a command like the following:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe http://www.google.com http://www.yahoo.com http://www.msn.com
