firefox freezing for no apparent reason

Hey all. I've reinstalled firefox a few times already, but for some reason it's freezing whenever I go to sites. I think it might have something to do with flash player, but I can't figure out where the problem is with it. I've uninstalled that too and reinstalled, without any help.

It also happens when I go to the options menu in the program.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I had crashing problems with FF that I could not get rid of, and frankly.. did not want to spend the time diagnosing. I switched to Opera, and real glad I did.
 
I did remove flash from add/remove programs and that did nothing. I think it's a bigger problem with the computer overall, and I believe that a reformat is in order.

I will try opera in the mean time. thanks.
