Anyone else picking up this? Basically you buy the game and then you can buy the other half of the game as an extra DLC within the game's shop, not to be confused with the 3DS E-Shop.

Again, if you buy one version of this game, you do NOT need to buy a copy of the other, you buy it within the game's shop, it will be about $20 for the other half.

Anyway, I may grab this once I beat Awakening. I am a sucker for the Fire Emblem/Advance Wars games. They don't have the greatest stories, generally, but what they do have is fun tactical gameplay, and you can save on the go, which I like.
 
I went with Birthright because it is allegedly more noob friendly.
 
I preordered the special edition which has Birthright, Conquest, Revelation all on one cart and the artbook.

Awakening was less rage inducing cause you could grind level your characters on the DLC and if you really wanted you could just play casual mode if you didn't like permadeath.
 
Are they actually separate games? Not like Pokemon where it's just minor differences?

I kind of assumed the latter, so if it's the former I'll have to grab both.

Supposedly it's two complete games, HOWEVER, the twist is that halfway thru the game, you have the choice of playing the other half, I believe.

That is only if you purchase the game from the eShop. Physical copies only include the purchased game as unlocked.
 
Yeah I was saying that you can buy a copy either way and unlock the other half via the ingame store as paid DLC, it will be $20 instead of $40.

I'm still not done with Awakening. Last I checked, most of my characters were horribly, horribly overleveled because I did multiple pairing combinations per character until I found the one that I wanted to keep... And that's where I left off, too. I've already done some of the son/daughter battles that are supposedly much harder than many of the storyline battles that follow (ie Nah, who practically killed most of the stuff on the map as we were getting to her because my MC is so OP). I paired my MC with Nowi, and then Chrom with Olivia... and I don't remember the others. There are too many to go, though. One of these days I'll just go and finish up the dang thing.

For this iteration, the only thing I'm interested in is the Conquest route... for... reasons... petta reasons.
 
Since I couldn't get the Special Edition, I will end up pre-ordering both Birthright and Conquest physical carts.

Comes out Friday.

IGN gave Birthright a 9.4 and Conquest a 9.5.

They did that because Birthright is designed to appeal to newbies and Conquest is designed to appeal to veterans.

Towards that end, Birthright has less varied win conditions and has an easier way to grind levels while Conquest is more straightforward and a "true" Fire Emblem game, with no grinding, and multiple paths to victory.

Personally I will get both, probably Birthright first.

Conquest just showed up in the mail, gonna start trying it out tonight when I get home

Have Conquest, waiting on Birthright to arrive from Amazon, pre-ordered both, both with Prime and shipping from Amazon, Conquest sends out a day before release and arrives on release day, Birthright didn't ship till Saturday, with an expected delivery of Friday? LOL
 
Conquest because I prefer the hard way. I was curious and attempted to side with Hoshido down the birthright path while I had the conquest cartridge in my system and Nintendo popped a window telling me there was no game data on my system and I could purchase it for $20 via digital download to continue however, going forward with the Nohr conquest path with the conquest cartridge in my system went along without any event.

Yeah, you can put out $80 for the complete game, minus any map packs that come out.

$40 for a physical or digital copy

$20 digital for the other half of the game

$20 for Revelations.
