I want to bypass or eliminate the Actiontec MI424WR that comes standard with the FIOS and HDTV system.

I was thinking about splitting the signal from the source with a motorola signal booster then going dedicated to my DGL 4500 router and sending the other dedicated signal to the Actiiontec router for the HDTV or directly to the TV set top box.

Can this be done?

I don't want to use the FIOS router.

You will need to use the FiOS router for the HD set top boxes (which also means DHCP), and as a gateway for your internet. What most people do is disable the FiOS router's wireless, and use another brand for WiFi.
