Okay, so this one's been driving me insane and I just don't get it.
I've had FiOS for about 2 years now. Been through a few ActionTec routers. A few months back I had them switch the ONT over to Ethernet mode and now have the ActionTec set up as an IP (192.168.1.2) behind my own D-Link router.
This was a DGL-4300 gaming router but the power brick died last night and a replacement is days away so I picked up a surprisingly cheap D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N router.
The issue I'm having is that, while everything appears to work just fine, Xbox Live is a mess!
If the ActionTec is powered up Xbox Live lags to hell. Turn off the ActionTec and Xbox Live runs flawlessly. I don't get it. How is a device behind my router dragging down the Xbox connected to my router?
It's a major annoyance too as we forget to turn it back on and guide data runs out, etc.
If I can solve this one I've issue-free! Any help greatly appreciated.
So it's ONT -> DIR-655 with the 4 ports going to ActionTec, Xbox 360, hard run upstairs to a switch for "home office" PC's and my Blu-ray player.
