What are some ways to diagnose resource-usage in Windows 7?
Specifically, I'm curious to find any programs or services that are "spiking" in resource usage behind the scenes, which might not necessarily get spotted on a cursory and momentary peak at Task Manager.
It'd be great if there was some sort of system-wide logging possible, with the ability to show per-app/service spiking of a particular resource (disk, mem, cpu, gpu) over time.
