I thought 850 watts would be enough but, after some calculations the other day, from what i can calculate maximum load is at or over 850watts, these servers put a dent in a power bill just idling. Dual CPUs, 10G and RAID cards, 6 hard drives, 2 - 2+ GPUs, mobo, ram, fans, etc etc this/these server/work station(s) pulls some power.

So i've been looking at 1000 watts that would give me some head room, especially under full load and or high usage and long operations

EVGA 1000 G2: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...aoIlfD7bCdM3bW

Seasonic Prime Ultra Platinum 1000 : https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2018/...-power-supply/

Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 1000 : https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2017/...-power-supply/

it seems to me since it's enterprise grade and doesn't OC the EVGA G2 might be decent and comes with 10 year warranty and is almost $100 less than the seasonics

Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 1000, peasant.

For my 4p system I run an EVGA 1300g2 and my 2p systems are on Corsair AX1200's. Both are amazing choices. No issues at all.

Those are all solid choices. I would go with the g2. They are top notch units. Im not positive but i dont think Johnny reviewed the 1000w unit. He did the 1300 g2 which is the same superflower oem if memory serves.
You may even be able to find the 1300 g2 for less than the 1000w unit.

When you are talking about a 2 socket system pulling over 850w with multi gpus in a server setting (with the other hardware costing several thousand dollars) why would you worry about a less than $100 difference in PSU cost? Seasonic has a well deserved reputation for top quality power supplies. They dont put out crap. So when several thousand in hardware and potential server downtime is on the line, do you want to pay a little up front or alot later?

Not saying you CANNOT use a Corsair or EVGA unit, but these are not server class units. They are ATX desktop units built to a price.

I say the same, get the Seasonic.
12 year warranty, you pay an extra $8 per year and are guaranteed quality + service.
I have the 750W Prime Ultra Titanium, great PSU.
It even comes with enterprise drive SATA power connectors.

I owned two seasonic 1250 gold, 2 modules failed (original and RMA), so would check for reviews before taking one. Maybe was only my bad luck, but that 1250 unit was known for having issues. After that chose a EVGA 1300w gold, and has been 3 year rock solid (currently), with very low ripple and voltages never falling (+12 turns always between 12,2v and 12,36v). Excellent and stable unit.

That's because you went GOLD. Titanium or go home.

Hahahah you are right! Lol, that was like 6 or 7 years ago (on the x-1250 gold release), I don't know if titaniums were already con the market! Cheers!!!

Seasonic or Superflower top end designs (the actual manufacturers) are safe bets, usually but not always they will be Platinum or Titanium rated. There are other high-end, high quality designs mostly found in server and redundant configurations, but they are not likely to have the standard connector set most DIY'ers want and often have a loud/fixed fan designed for maximum reliability in racks.

You can buy these designs with many many different vendor names on them, or in the case of Seasonic, available as their own brand. The main problem with the "other vendor" route is that Corsair, EVGA, et al don't differentiate their retail units based on actual quality. You have to rely on a third party and FCC database to figure out what is what.
