Hello everyone,I just finished building my new PC and now choosing monitor is a very big concern. My build is:

Gigabyte Z390 Ultra
RTX 2080 Asus ROG OC
9700k + be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4
16GB DDR4 G.Skill 3200
Samsung 970 Evo + 4TB HDD
Corsair RM850x (2018 edition) + be quiet silent base 800

I play on full HD 60hz and now I want to try 1440p gaming with 144hz monitor.
By the way,I use 55' TV with only 40ppi and I think I get sometimes nauseousness,is it monitor related and can new monitor resolve this problem ?
Mainly I play World of Tanks, but I always play AAA games when they are out, mostly FPS and TPS games.

My desk is 80×140cm and I will sit approx 2 feet from monitor.

I can't decide which monitor to buy.Probably 27' will be too small and 32' too big. Also there are 34' UW monitors which makes the choice harder but they are 100-120hz and I don't know if that will be enough by today's standards.

Thanks in advance!

I used to run 27" 1440p 144Hz. It was pretty nice and definitely a huge improvement over 60Hz 1080p.

Currently running a 34" ultrawide (2560x1080). I think this size/aspect is great, especially at 166Hz. 1080p can be low resolution, so I would recommend 1440p.

If you want to go with 1440p ultrawide, this Asus looks like a good choice:

or the Alienware:

Though I love 166Hz, 100 to 120Hz is still good and above that there are diminishing returns on the smoothness. Still a huge step up from 60Hz and smooth.

Or, if you want to go with 16:9 and get the higher refresh (which is not a bad choice either) you can look at something like this:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABMT8GG4212

I would for sure say you need G-Sync. You can also look around for FreeSync monitors that work with Nvidia and save some money.

Hope that helps.

Main problem is that I can't decide which size to buy :(

In my opinion the table size also matters. For example, I love playing on larger screen, so I bought 32" monitor, but I also bought 80cm table.

Usually, normal table are 60cm, which would make you sitting too close to the monitor. So if you have smaller table than 80cm, and you are not planning to buy a new one, I would recommend buying max of 27".

I would say get at least 27". Smaller than that is probably not impressive.

I have written in the first post that my desk is 80x140cm

1 month later and believe it or not,I'm still looking what to buy.

There is Samsung CHG70 32' version in my country for 600$
Also there is this acer 31.5 for 350$ - https://smile.amazon.com/Acer-ED323...rds=acer+31.5&qid=1555591019&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Thing is that returning isn't an option if I just don't like something,it should be defective so I have to buy with confidence. Samsung is using PWM and I don't know will it be hurting eyes or not during gaming sessions, there is no info about Acer regarding PWM,but it's almost half the price of samsung...

I know that buying monitor is the most difficult in PC part picking but am I missing any nice monitors bigger that 27 which are worth buying or maybe some upcoming models or should I try 27'? UW isn't an option for me because of weird short height.

I'm open to any recommendations, thanks folks.

Had to convert your cm to inches. So basically you have an office style desk, which is around 30" deep and 55" long.

This is similar to what I use in my home office, same depth but about 180cm long.

I currently use a 27" which I find fills my field of view nicely, and it leaves me enough room on the desk to place two desktop speakers and a lamp for ambient lighting. With your desk being a little shorter, you may want to go with a 31.5" 1440p if you don't have any other items on your desk. 1440p at 31.5" will give you a PPI around 93, which is similar to PPI of a 24" 1080p monitor, if you've used one.

If you're looking to maximize your gaming experience at high/ultra settings right now, then 1440p 144Hz @ 4:4:4 is your ticket. If the monitor will be placed directly in front of you, I would suggest a VA panel instead of IPS for strong contrast.

I got you :) I think CHG70 32' is 4:4:4 isn't it ?
