File sharing between Vista and XP Home

alright so I have set up file sharing on both computers and have ran into a bit of a stalemate. For one reason or another, my computer running XP can connect/view/access the shared files on my Vista computer, but the Vista computer cannot access the XP Home. The Vista can communicate with the XP home computer, and recognizes its presence on the network, however, when I try to connect to the XP computer through the Vista computer, I get a logon request for a user name and password. I am wondering if any of you have had similar problems like this, and what the solution would be. Yes, I have an "everyone" permission set to the shared folder on the XP computer that I am trying to access. Let me know if any of you can help me out or if you need any more information.
