Zenoss (Open source) Network monitoring. Has the ability to use nagios as a plug in.

Here are the highlights

- Port to Ip and Mac mapping
- Topology Mapping
- Configuration management
- Fairly intuitive and good looking web interface
- Easy install and configuration. (some of the underlying configuration is NOT web based, but it's only 2-3 files.)
- Monitoring /alerting
- Built in graphing, as well as the ability in integrate Cacti.
- OUI vendor recognition

Well worth a try. Think of it as a poor mans Solarwinds.

this thread is hardcore FTW.

maybe we could get it condensed like the others?

Well, you know. We touched all the good tools, but ping is still probably used more than nmap -sP ;)
