I burn a recurring internet program (RvB, for the curious) for a friend who only has dial-up. However, it takes me forever to burn the damn things because the rewrite speed is only 4x. My CD-burner (Sony something) is 52x24x52. I just looked on newegg, and I can only find 4x for 700Mb CDRWs.

Anyone know where I can buy some 24x CDRWs? I know this is probably a blast-from-the-past, but 700Mb is all I need. :)

I found 10x cdrw's at Best Buy. I have never seen 24x ones, though.

fastest i ever saw were 12x (which really isnt that fast)

i just buy huge spindles of CD-R's instead

CD-Rs are cheap, why not just burn a new one each week?
I find it a waste. I go through CDRs like water, though.

By using CDRWs for stuff like this, I've probably saved at least 2 spindles worth.

Also, look what I found at Walmart...

Those above cd-rws at 24x are quite nice.

I have a 5 pack just like that.

Be warned, they do not work on all drives, as far as readability. I have some older cd-rom drives that wont read them.

And ive had some issues playing svcd's burned on them on my phillips dvd 642 player. But for overall data and music purposes, they seem fine.

True. Look out for the Verbatim 24X and 32X discs. They are the best.. Memorex discs are quite crappy.
