Fan controler for large 172 MM fan

I was browsing Frozen CPU andcame apoun this, http://www.frozencpu.com/fan-88.html?mv_pc=2598 . Anyway long story short, I don't think standard fan controlers you buy would be up to the task for this fan simply because of the wattages involved. I don't want to have to listen to 54 DB of fan noise. so if I'm going to use this to cool my evo 1800 a fan controler is a must. Can anyone recomend me one that will be up for the task ?

Seems like it comes with no connector attached anyways, so you could solder a rheostat inline with a fan connector perhaps.
 
A PWM controller should be fine. Google for "PWM" and "Fan" and you should find plenty of info. I've used the 24v models at 12v and they work fine, but the 12v ones are a little loud.
