Yeah, even if the speed locks were in place they are still going 80 in a 35. These "kids" were bound to kill someone thankfully it was just themselves, they were 18 but the news keeps pushing the narrative as kids by referring them as teenagers, which while technically true they were adults... oh and the "kid" got a ticket for going 112 a month earlier, sue the parents for allowing the "kid" to drive116 in a 35!? Smells like it's the fault of the kid, and at that speed a gas tank could easily bust open and catch on fire. Please say this was the parents' only child because clearly the stupidity didn't fall far from the tree.
He sounds like he may have the same mentality as these parents. .
Capable of making her own decisions, but can't afford to buy her own car.
