You never know you may get the company to settle. Paul Walkers daughter got porsche to settle regarding his death. Then again the Porshe Carrera GT should really only be driven on well maintained tracks by an expert. Good luck controlling that thing at 605 bhp with no stability control.

116 in a 35!? Smells like it's the fault of the kid, and at that speed a gas tank could easily bust open and catch on fire. Please say this was the parents' only child because clearly the stupidity didn't fall far from the tree.

Yeah, even if the speed locks were in place they are still going 80 in a 35. These "kids" were bound to kill someone thankfully it was just themselves, they were 18 but the news keeps pushing the narrative as kids by referring them as teenagers, which while technically true they were adults... oh and the "kid" got a ticket for going 112 a month earlier, sue the parents for allowing the "kid" to drive

116 MPH or 85 MPH due to the limiter, doesn't matter. The "kid" was a reckless driver and their driving was very likely going to result in a tragic accident (killing themselves, another motorist, or both) regardless of the speed they were going at in a 35 MPH zone. If not that day, then another day when they were very likely driving recklessly again. The parents can blame Tesla all they want for removing the limiter/not limiting the top speed, but it was ultimately the driver's decision to push the pedal to reach speeds far beyond the posted speed limit of the area.

It's tragic none-the-less. As a parent the tragic loss of a child must be absolutely excruciating.
