Facebook earns “headline of the day” today for banning breast-feeding pictures. For those of you upset by the ban, the [H] is glad to step up to the plate with a picture of a pair of titties.

Facebook has found itself at the core of a heated controversy after the popular social-networking Web site removed photos of breast-feeding mothers. The company threatened to close the account of 23-year-old Heather Farley after she posted two photos of herself breast-feeding her infant daughter.

I don't like thoses ones as they aren't symetric. The one on the left is a lot larger than the one on the right.

I'm with facebook on this one. I don't see why a baby being attached to a tit should make any different than just a tit.

If a 500lb woman with tits hanging down to her hips is walking about topless that is sick and wrong. Having a baby sucking on the end of one of the tits doesn't make it bueatiful, it is still sick and wrong. Same goes for any woman really. As a man, i'm not going to be pissed if I see some women wipe out a tit to feed her child myself however I don't feel that there is or that there should be any different between breast feeding and just a plain old tit.

You always see these woman groups bitching about they should be able to breast feed in the middle of a restaurant, or in the checkout line at a store, or where ever they feel like doing it instead of needing having to use some special area or going to the rest room. I don't feel that they should be given special rights that no other woman has. Sex is part of nature, so is masterbating, however try doing either of those in a store or in the middle of a restaurant and see if everyone is perfectly fine with it. Better yet, trying jerking off to the woman breast feeding accross from you and see if she is fine with it.

It's human nature, something private that is done on your own time between you and your child; a key part of development for the child's well being. If you're going to take pictures of yourself doing it and post them on the internet, that sounds like a personal problem to me. The mental state of people on the internet never really ceases to amaze.. this is just another fine example. If someone wants to see lactating breasts or post up pictures of that, I'm sure there's some odd fetish porn site for that. I don't care to see that when I open up a friend's facebook page.

why is a tit sick and wrong or the exposure of a tit? excuse me, but y'all are a bunch of hypocrites freaking out about some boobies. at least people like Exavior. or some fools that need 32 years to realize that there is a naked child on some album by the Scorpions. get a clue...

i'm not saying breast feeding pics are aestetic or anything and should be shown online, but it's silly to call it sick and wrong. btw, learn to spell "masturbating".

lol i mistyped aesthetic. should have been with [H]... ok flame on :)

There is nothing wrong with breasts. And seeing a baby feeing shouldn't be considered pornographic. What's next burkas and veils?

Sorry -- If titties cannot be posted on Facebook by themselves, why should a baby on the end of them make it any different?

Your sick. Your gonna overload that zoo's sever. Shame on you for decieving us. LOL
Gotta admit they are cute though.

Because there's a difference from a social acceptability perspective in the States. In other words: Janet Jackson -- not okay; breast feeding -- somewhat okay. It wasn't that long ago that breast feeding in public wasn't even frowned upon in the U.S..

Still, Facebook made their own judgment call, and I totally respect that. Realistically, you could swing either way on this issue.

You guys need to read the article. Breast-feeding pictures that don't reveal all are left alone. The pics were removed because the breast was fully exposed and there are many underage children using facebook.

And children sucking on it's mother's tit isn't underage?

I really don't understand why this is so hard to understand. I mean, it's clearly apparent to everyone that:

0-1: Okay, perfectly normal part of nature
1-18: You are a sick child-molesting freak
18-50: Nipple sucking pics perfectly okay, and hot!
65-100: What kind of perverted, dirty old man are you, anyway?
100+: Creepy, but, really, if you can keep it up at that age? Props!

Totally straightforward, see?

There are many underage children using National Geographic...........

no thanks, too hairy for me:eek::eek:. Post your hairy tities (sp) somewhere else you sick bastards:D:D.

p.s. I blame myself for actually clicking on the link.

Just yesterday I heard someone was complaining about some mothers filling up their facebook with pictures of their kids that their profile looked more like a day care center webpage :p

Common sense tells us that this is wrong, dumb, and unnecessary. Why the hell does these idiots feel the need to show the world pictures of them breast-feeding? They might as well record their daily life and put it online (as if anyone care).

Those people must be high on something when they decided that they should put pictures of them breast feeding..

I was just glad it wasn't that picture of Steve in a bra again.

Maybe I missed something....why is there a picture of steve wearing a bra? A pretty white lacy one in fact.

It's all a matter of intent. One is to arouse. The other is not. But our American society is so prudish and introverted that anytime some guy sees breasts he gets hard and cannot tell the difference.

Only in the USA, or Saudi Arabia or some other uptight nation would something like this even be an issue.

Hey, but I'm sure some pics of people getting decapitated would be OK with the whiny prudes posting here. Because, hey, gruesome murder is OK, but boobies are not.

So who appointed you Minister of Appropriate Internet Use? Seriously, what the fuck does your opinion have to do with what others can or cannot do with their own sites? Common sense? Who's? Dumb? Says who? You? So what.

If nobody cares, as you say, they what's the big deal? Is it any dumber than the unboxing of a fucking motherboard? OMG! Ten SATA ports! Jesus.

If you don't like it, quit looking at it! Don't try to restrict everyone else on the internet to suit your personal tastes or phobias.

Okay then, by your logic, we should have child pornography and all kinda of other crap on the net as well. I'm sorry but people should not be posting these kinds of pictures onto a website. There are plenty of porn sites on the internet if this lady wants people to see her boobies. You cannot tell me that people are going to click on that picture and say "How cute!" No, they are going to do what any normal person would do and gawk at the rack.

Facebook has a right to decide what they want posted on their website, plain and simple. Whether we agree with it or not, it's their decision.

My personal opinion is that this woman simply posted the pics with the intent to cause controversy and/or attract attention. Whether she personally believes there is anything wrong with it or not, she must have know many Facebook users would take offense to those pics before posting them. When you know that posting something will cause undesirable controversy and discontent, it is only common courtesy not to post it.

I'm glad to see that, two pages into this thread, no one has screamed "OMG INTERNET CENSORSHIP 1984 EVIL!!!" yet. I honestly thought that's all I would see when I clicked on the discussion link. Thanks guys for proving me wrong.

Whats wrong with you over there, taking such an offense by my post:confused::D

Just commenting on these actions that, IMO, is dumb. I never said that these people must be caught and hanged in public. They can do all the dumb thing they want, go post pictures of them taking a dump in the toilet or whatever. But I have the right to think its still dumb and idiotic, as much as you have the right to think its ok, if thats what you think it is.

Life goes on no matter what we think. These attention whore will still find ways to crave their weird desire.

Why is this such a big deal? Who cares if kids see boobs? Any thirteen year old smart enough to browse to Facebook can easily acquire far worse than breastfeeding pictures. I know, because 10 years ago I was thirteen, and I did.

People need to stop grow up and stop worrying about stupid shit like this. Breastfeeding is not pornographic. Breasts aren't even a big deal. To the guy who commented on breastfeeding in public - why SHOULDN'T the mother be able to feed her kid wherever she damn well pleases? If you don't like it, feel free to look away. And there is an obvious and clear difference between public breastfeeding and public sex. Move to the Middle East if you disagree.

By your logic... Oh wait your post was devoid of logic. Comparing breast feeding to child porn.

My take on this and every other thing in life is simple:

You have the right to do anything you want....

....until it steps on someone else's rights.

Too bad people are so concerned about only themselves, I call them the "what about me..." generation, that we end up in situations like this.

In this case specifically, one has to ask... why would anyone have to ever breast feed in public? You can't prepare a bottle or two for your trip into public? Is it such an emergency to feed the baby that you have to do it in the line at your grocery store? You can't wait 2 minutes until you get to the car? Where is your cover / blanket / breast feeding attire?

You may have the right to breast feed but everyone else has the right NOT to see it.

What is the motivation behind someone posting pictures of breast feeding? Is there a need to post breast feeding pictures on a social networking site?

Clearly if this was: babymama.com, BFA.com (breast feeders anonymous), naturalmother.com, warningyoumightseeatitty.com, etc. etc. etc. no one would have a problem with it or have a foot to stand on when they complain.

It all goes back to what I said earlier about having the right to do anything you want, until it steps on someone else's rights. Besides, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should.

My $0.02 cents, your mileage may vary....I probably owe you change.

excellent post. So far imo, this is the only argument again public breastfeeding that I can agree with.
